Final control meetingin the framework of LIFE ATIAS project

On March 28 to 29, 2024, the final mission for the LIFE ATIAS project titled “Addressing the treat of invasive alien species in North Greece, using early warning and information systems for mammals” was held in Kastoria.

The meeting was attended by the project advisor from CINEA, Ms. Ana Klenovsek, the technical advisors of ELMEN EEIG, Ms. Evi Papantoniou and Mr. Elias Demian as well as representatives of all the partners of the LIFE ATIAS project:

1. Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a. School of Forestry & Natural Environment, Wildlife & Freshwater Fisheries Laboratory (project coordinator), Forest Management and Remote Sensing Laboratory and b. Department of Journalism and Mass Communication

2. Decentralized Administration of Epirus & Western Macedonia

3. Decentralized Administration of Macedonia & Thrace

4. Democritus University of Thrace, Department of Forestry and Management of Environment and Natural Resources

5. Hellenic Fur Federation

6. Hunting Federation of Macedonia & Thrace and

7. Company GOUNARIS N. – KONTOS K. OE. -“HOMEOTECH Co.”

On the first day of the meeting, Thursday March 28th, the presentations and overall evaluation of the LIFE ATIAS actions took place, followed by a discussion of its final outcomes. The following day, Friday, 29th of March, the participants visited the project sites of actions C1 & C2 in the area of Kastoria.
