Citizen Science

Citizen science is the process of public participation and collaboration in scientific research to increase scientific knowledge. Preventing the introduction and establishment of Invasive Alien Species is the most effective and cheapest way to prevent the loss of biodiversity. The promotion of citizen science aims to raise public and stakeholder awareness of IAS management issues. At the same time, citizens, through recording the presence of IAS in the EWS application developed by Homeotech, contribute to data collection and generally play an important role in population monitoring and control activities.
